How we work on the west side
Misfiredexa has been a compact studio at Eerste Helmersstraat 78 since 2021: a live room of about 34 m², 2 iso booths and a dedicated voice-over booth of roughly 6 m². We work with artists, bands, producers and speakers who want usable takes and clear files—not open-ended experiments without a brief.
We read every request ourselves. Within 2 working days you get a proposal: date, duration, VAT-inclusive price and what we expect in terms of preparation. The slot is firm only after you accept and pay the 30% deposit. More about the rooms and team on About.

Vocal recording
Lead and backing vocals in an iso booth; engineer handles gain, monitoring and takes.

Drums, bass, guitars and keys together in the live room; space for reamping and amp cabs.

From multitrack to stereo mix in the studio or from delivered stems; export in your preferred format.

You outline the plan

Written proposal
Within 2 working days: VAT-inclusive price, duration and engineer. The proposal follows our terms and conditions.
Confirm the slot
After acceptance and a 30% deposit the booking is firm. Reschedule or cancel free of charge more than 4 days ahead.
Session and delivery
You work with Eva or Joris on gain, takes and exports. We keep project files for 24 months; backing up remains your responsibility.
Small team, clear agreements
Maarten van Dijk runs the studio; Eva Bos handles vocal and live recording, Joris Meijer mixing and mastering. Whoever writes your proposal is also at the desk or on the mix.
Opening hours: Mon–Fri 11–20, Sat 10–16. Sessions are by appointment so one booking does not run into the next. Directions and tram lines are on Contact and in our FAQ.

How fast do you reply to an enquiry?
We aim for within 2 working days with a proposal and price. If workload delays that, we tell you via [email protected] or 020 261 8473.
What does an hour of vocal recording cost?
The hourly rate is €95 including VAT (€78.51 ex VAT). Half and full days are on Vocal recording and Services.
Can I cancel for free?
More than 4 days before the session: free reschedule or cancellation. Shorter notice follows article 7 in our terms.
What format do you deliver?
Usually 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz or your project sample rate, via download link or a drive you bring. See also master formats.
Oud-West · Amsterdam
Tram 13 stops at Eerste Helmersstraat; from that stop it is about a 2-minute walk to number 78. From Amsterdam Centraal, tram 13 towards Amsterdam Sloterdijk takes roughly 15 minutes. By bike from Leidseplein it is about 7 minutes via Overtoom and De Clercqstraat.
