Booth and acoustics

Our recording studio in Oud-West has 3 rooms: a live room of about 34 m² and 2 iso booths for vocals. The vocal booth is dry enough for rap and pop without feeling airless. A window to the control room lets you cue off the engineer without breaking takes.

We can draw on roughly 19 microphones and 20 desk inputs. For vocals we usually start with a large-diaphragm condenser, sometimes a dynamic for loud sources or a ribbon if the top end feels harsh. You listen in the control room and we decide together.

Who it suits

Vocal recording is for anyone who needs a clean vocal track: indie singers, hip-hop artists, choir members recording a solo, musical performers building a demo, or bands doubling a chorus. Minimum age is 16; younger artists need parental agreement under terms and conditions.

You do not need to be a studio veteran. If you already use a DAW at home, our track naming will feel familiar; if not, we explain exports and how to drop them into your project.

Engineer support

Recording engineer Eva Bos leads many vocal days; owner Maarten van Dijk covers busy slots. The engineer runs tech but can comment on articulation, timing or dynamics when you want that. Some artists prefer a quiet button; others want a second pair of ears — say so when you book.

For backing vocals and stacks we use clear conventions: separate tracks for doubles, harmonies and ad-libs, consistent file names and timeline markers. That helps mix engineer Joris or an external mixer start quickly.

What to bring

Prepare so booked hours go to singing, not file hunting.

• Instrumental as WAV (ideally without guide vocal) or stems in a tidy folder
• Lyrics on paper or phone, plus any cue notes
• Tempo (BPM) and key if you know them
• Two or three reference tracks whose vocal tone you like
• Your own headphones if you rely on them

Timing and breaks

Sessions run within Mon–Fri 11–20, Sat 10–16; exact hours are on contact. A typical three- to four-minute single often needs two to four hours including setup, depending on doubles. Half-day blocks suit most solo tracks; a full day makes sense for EP hooks or several songs back to back.

Breaks are flexible: water is available in the booth. A tired voice rarely yields usable takes; a short pause beats pushing through. Free rescheduling applies up to 4 days ahead; see terms for cancellation detail.

Delivery and formats

We record 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz by default unless your project uses another sample rate — tell us in advance. You receive vocal files aligned from the song start, plus a session export on request. Same-day rough mixes are possible when time allows.

Transfer via secure download or your SSD. We keep a backup for 24 months, then delete project files per privacy policy. Keep your own copy too.

Rates and VAT

Prices on this page are consumer rates including 21% VAT. Business invoicing is available with 14-day payment terms. We ask for a 30% deposit to confirm; the balance is due after the session unless agreed otherwise.

Not included

Booth time covers the engineer, basic editing and export of your vocal takes. Not included by default:

• Extensive pitch correction or tuning beyond light edits
• Full mix or master of the song
• Hiring session musicians
• Licences for third-party beats — arrange that with your producer
